ONLINE HYBRID RMA COURSE
REGISTERED MEDICATION AIDE
The Medication Aide Program provides state-approved training to prepare students to safely administer medications in long-term care and assisted living settings and sit for the Virginia Board’s Registered Medication Aide (RMA) exam. Complete 48 hours of classroom education online, and 20 hours of supervised clinical experience at a convenient local facility through Polaris.

EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or GED is required to enroll.
- Must be able to read and write in english
- Students seeking enrollment in the program must meet one of the following prerequisites:
- Successful completion of the 40-hour Direct Care Staff Training required by DSS for ALF employment: or
- Successful completion of a Board of Nursing approved nurse aide training program: or
- Successful completion of one clinical course of a nursing program

Completing this course will prepare you to take the Medication Aide Exam which is administered externally by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Upon completing this examination, usually within 3 months, you will be a fully licensed Registered Medication Aide!!
